1. Who are we?

BJJ Championships is an online service providing an aggregated calendar of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitions, accessible at https://www.bjj-championships.com.

2. Data collected

We collect the following data:

  • Account data: email address, display name, preferred language, upon registration.
  • Google OAuth2 data: if you sign in via Google, we receive your email and public profile name.
  • Subscription data: subscription status, Stripe ID, start and expiry dates, managed via Stripe.
  • Navigation data: pages visited, session duration, browser and device type — collected via Google Analytics (anonymised).
  • Favorites: competitions you bookmark, stored on our servers.

3. Cookies

We use the following types of cookies:

  • Essential cookies: required for the site to function (authentication, language preferences).
  • Analytics cookies: Google Analytics (anonymised) to measure traffic and improve the service.
  • Advertising cookies: Google AdSense may place cookies to display personalised ads. These cookies are managed by Google. Learn more: policies.google.com/privacy.

You can opt out of advertising cookies via Google Ads Settings.

4. Legal basis (GDPR)

  • Contract performance: processing your account and subscription.
  • Legitimate interest: service improvement through analytics.

  • Account data: retained while your account is active, deleted within 30 days of closure.
  • Analytics data: 26 months (default Google Analytics setting).
  • Payment data: retained by Stripe under their terms, not stored on our servers.
